Hargeisa08-09-2015:- H.E. President Ahmed Mohamed Mahmoud Silanyo today at the Presidential Palace received Egyptian delegation headed by the deputy Egyptian Ambassador to Djibouti Hon Mohamed Al Amir and 15 Egyptian doctors who are currently embed at the Hargeisa General Hospital providing free medical operations.
President Silanyo and the Egyptian delegation discussions during the meeting covered ways of promoting diplomatic, cultural, Education, trade ties and ensuring peace and stability in the region.
Hon Saleban Essa Ahmed “Xaglatosiye”, the Minster of Health briefing the media moments after emerging from the closed door meeting said, “I, on behalf of my fellow countrymen would like to express gratitude to the visiting Egyptian doctors for the work to provide much needed medical care for SL citizens and also for their specialized expertise in life altering medical conditions.
“We’re excited about the work Egyptian surgeons are doing at Hargeisa General Hospital, not only because of all the citizens receive medical care which would normally be out of their reach, but also because visiting surgeons provide excellent training opportunities for our own local young doctors who represent the future of healthcare in Somaliland.”, He stated.
On his part the Egyptian Ambassador to Djibouti Hon Mohamed Al Amir briefing the press said, “Reiterate Egyptian commitment to a strong and historic friendship with Somaliland and pledged to enhance the historic friendship political and development cooperation as well as reviving the various exchange programs between the two nations as well as restoring stimulating investment in Somaliland, finally the Egyptian delegation presented gifts to H.E. President Ahmed Mohamed Mahmoud Silanyo
