President Silanyo Meets Youth Coalition to Discuss Pertinent and Topical issues

H.E President Ahmed Mohamed Mahmoud Silanyo today at the Presidential Place hosted a section of Somaliland youth drawn from all corners of the country who took part in a one day poem recitations and drama competition event organized by Somali Rehabilitation and Development agency {SODRA) a local NGO which aimed to fulfill and attracted the predominant opinions of young somalilanders hence an interactive a forum of discussion on this topic meant to educate and increase awareness on the adversities and prerogatives of youth migration at different levels of Somaliland society.

The event organized by Somali Rehabilitation and Development agency abbreviated as (SORDA) is local non-governmental non-political and non-profit seeking organization that engage improvement of livelihoods through promotion of social services organized the event meant to address the effects of illegal immigration a dilemma facing young people living in Somaliland who routinely risk their lives in search of a better life in the Western nations.

Among the youth who meet with President Silanyo during the one day function was the Mr. Ahmed Shaqaale the chairman of SODRA and the Vice Chairman of the Group Ms. Nadia Yusuf Omer the organizers of the one day event which showcased through drama and poems recitations the adversities and prerogatives of youth migration at different levels of our society today.

Speaking the event President Silanyo lauded the work of the organizers of the one day event by saying, “We can overcome the dilemma of youth immigration through such events organized by SODRA which are meant to enhance youth contribution towards promoting a more humane approach towards youth migration and to foster youth action towards implementation of ideas brought forward by the young people for the benefit of the societies and I would like to assure the youth of this nation that I will always support you achieving such noble endeavor’s and the doors to my office shall always be open for you.

The head of State expressed his utmost admiration of the youth who took part in leading the way in address the challenges and determinants of migration faced by fellow youth today through drama and other artistic talents, President Silanyo lastly urged the youth to continue to embrace and diversify such projects and carry out continuous programmes that will help spread awareness and address the need for youth to be actively involved in tackling migration issues.

The youth who participated in the one day event were drawn from all regions of the country later attended a lunch party in Hotel Mansoor hosted in their honor by the Minister in Charge of Presidential Affairs Hon Hirsi Ali Haji Hassan.
