The President made the directives last week when he met the top officials of both institutions.
The forthcoming general elections are scheduled to be held on the 17th of March 2017.
According to the Presidential spokesman Eng. Husein A. Egge, the Head of State reiterated the importance of the exercise and imparted upon officials both bodies the need of joint coordination in the smooth services of the exercise to the members of the public.
The President likewise reminded them that the forthcoming general election was around the corner hence that the registration exercises were prerequisites for the electioneering processes.
The NEC on their part gave the President a recap of how their institutions have prepared themselves for the tasks incumbent upon them.
