The assistant Minister of Information and National Guidance Hon Abdiwahid Abdurrahman Abdiqadir and the Managing director of Somaliland National Television Mr. khadar Ali Gaas cut the tape to a new state of the art SLNTV studio in Burao, Togdheer region.
Assistant Minister of Information and National Guidance Hon Abdiwahid Abdurrahman Abdiqadir speaking at the event said, “The region of Togdheer is luck because it’s the first region in the country to get such studio and new FM radio which was opened last month by the Minister of Information Hon Abdullah Mohamed Dahir.
The managing director of SLNTV speaking during a brief opening ceremony held in the national television premises in Burao said, “We provide diverse programs to both local and international audience with SLNTV incorporated the Arabic language into our service which currently has Somali and English language programs and now the new section, will broadcast regular news bulletins and programs in Arabic.
“With this studio we hope to reach our audience in all of Togdheer region, we expect its programs will more entertaining and sufficiently independent to attract a wide audience both locally and internationally”, He said.
The new SLNTV will enable us to attain a cutting edge advantage over its rivals, allowing us to broadcast simultaneously in several languages and enhance our presence on additional platforms which will hosts group of political, cultural and media personalities “,Mr. Gaas said.
Among the notable speakers at the function were Hon Mubarik Bidhi, the deputy governor of Togdheer region, the regional chairman of the ruling party (KULMIYE)Artist Hurre Walanwal to name a few.
