December 04 2015 -The Minister of Civil Aviation and Air Transport Hon Osman Abdullah Saharadid “Adani” today in his office received The Turkish consulate General and Mr. Senol Sakali and Ahmed Tomul representatives of Turkish Airlines who are currently for the first time visiting the country on a familiarization tour.
Briefing the reporters after emerging from the closed door meeting said “I am honored to host representatives of Turkish Airlines who are currently visiting the country on a familiarization tour and during our meeting we discussed the possibilities for Turkish Airlines to use our airport facilities in the near future that’s all I can for now because since this is the first time we have meet and we plan to hold similar meeting in the future.
The Minister of Aviation went on to say, “I believe the company will also invest in the modernization of the various facilities and will also help to improve airport services as it plans to use Somaliland as a stoppage and rest hub link routes in the Middle East and West Africa.
“I would also like to note that we have not reached any deal at the moment but I would also like to reiterate Somaliland is open for business and any individual or business entity interested in investing in country is welcomed to do so,” he said.
The Minister of Aviation and Air Transport during the meeting was flanked by the Director General in the Ministry of Aviation and Air Transport Mr. Omer Abdullah Aden, Director of Civil Aviation Department Said Mahad Illeye “Saqiiro”and Mr. Mohamed Yusuf Ismail, the Director of Operation at the Egal International Airport.
Turkish Airlines positions itself as a low cost carrier with good quality and reliable services and aims to bring these to what it calls “underserved” markets in Africa and Asia.
