Mid-level Somaliland administration and security officials are for the first time ever attending a joint security conference in the town of Jig-jiga , the capital of Somali administered region of Ethiopia.

Eight regional governors unknown number of deputy ministers and the four heads of the various arms of the Somaliland armed forces are attending the joint conference which Somaliland Minster of Interior and Internal Security termed as the way forward for keeping and sustaining the stability and security of the Horn of Africa

“The Jig-jiga conference will be centered on the relationship between Somaliland and Ethiopia regarding people to people relationship and the free movement of people and trade as well as safe guiding and securing the security of the two countries must be priority number one for both countries. It must be enhanced and maintained all the time”, stated Hon Waran Cade.

In a similar meeting held in Addis Abba, Ethiopia earlier week Somaliland Minister of Interior Hon Ali Mohamed (Warancade) and his counterpart the Federal of Ethiopia the Minister of Interior of Ethiopia H.E Shiferaw Teklemariam discussed ways to enhance security cooperation, Immigration and cross border relation between the nations.
