A four-sided closed meeting was today held at the Ministry of Interior headquarters to discuss the ongoing voter’s registration process in the western regions.
Attending today’s meeting were the leaders of the three official political organizations, the national electoral commission and ministry of Interior officials.
Hon Mahmoud Yassin Fartoon speaking to journalist’s moments after emerging from the closed door meeting said, “The purpose of our meeting was to discuss the ongoing voter’s registration process in the six designated areas in the western regions and the role of the Ministry of Interior in upholding the peace during the duration.
On the other hand, Hon Mahmoud Yassin Fartoon warned politicians, traditional elders, government officials not to interfere with or politicize the ongoing voter’s registration process by taking advantage of the current situation in those areas.
The Minister of Interior added, “I would like to urge those leaders to stop sowing the seeds of hatred and animosity among the people.
