Washington D.C. 1 November 2015: The Wagosha Movement of Somalia, which represents the Gosha Bantu community in Jubba regions is deeply, concerned the negative role that the United Arab Emirates is playing in Jubba regions of Southern Somalia.

The Executive committee of Wagosha Movement of Somalia is aware about the allegations of illegal charcoal exports from Kismayo port to UAE. This charcoal is the product from the farms and the rich jungles of Gosha area in Jubba regions, which now have been turned to desert because of cutting all the trees for charcoal business.

The Executive committee of Wagosha Movement of Somalia is also aware of the financial and military support of the UAE to warlord Ahmed Madobe and his clan administration. The weapons are used to kill and persecute the innocent Wagosha community, who oppose the oppression and the desertification of their lands. Recently issued UN Monitoring Group Report highlighted the atrocities and the war crimes that Ahmed Madobe is committing against the Wagosha people.

The Executive committee of Wagosha Movement of Somalia is also aware of illegal deals including the farming that the clan administration of Ahmed Madobe wants to offer to foreign countries as reward of what he is getting from them.

The Executive committee of Wagosha Movement of Somali, do hereby asks the UAE government to stop supporting the oppressing of our people by Ahmed Madobe, and not to make any business and economic deals with the Jubba administration, which is dominated by people who invaded our lands from neighbouring countries and elsewhere.
