Somalia:FSG and Jubbaland State Administration to Jointly Review structure of Regional Legislative Council
Mogadishu, August 30th 2015 —-A delegation led by the Prime Minister of Federal Republic of Somalia H.E. Omar Abdirashid Sharmarke, and comprising of senior Ministers and other high ranking officials visited this morning Kismayo the capital of Jubbaland State. They were received in the airport by President of Jubbaland Ahmed Mohamed Islam (Madobe) and members of his cabinet along with jubilant local people.
After engaging in discussion of several hours amid the visiting delegation and the host. Two keynote aspects were agreed:
1. To review the structure of the Legislative Council and reconsider to include those which are deemed to be absent
2. To reactivate the Committee appointed by the Federal Government and led by the Interior Minister to commence the process of solving this matter.
Prime Minister Sharmarke welcomed the common understanding and approach between his delegation and that of the Jubbaland State in their sincere step to resolve this issue. This is expected to bring an end to the misunderstanding and misconception among communities living in Jubbaland State and further enhance harmony and stable State building.
Finally Prime Minister Sharmarke promised that his Government will fully support the fulfillment and execution of this agreement of today in order to achieve a Regional Government with strong base and that answer the needs of all its inhabitants.
