1. Abdurahman Mohamed Guelleh told TX, still in custody in Gabode
Abdurahman Mohamed Guelleh told TX, the General Secretary and Chairman of the USN Radde party, still warrant of the central prison Gabode. Indeed, it was presented Sunday, January 3, 2015 before the Criminal Chamber of the Court of 1st instance for charges of provoking an armed mob. Moreover, the court declined jurisdiction to decide the case and referred the case to a judge. Abourahman TX under investigation was still remanded in custody to Gabode.
2. Omar Ali Ewado still in custody at Gabode
Ewado Omar Ali, President of the LDDH, arrested December 29, 2015, was placed under warrant of the central prison Gabode 31 December 2015. The charges against Ewado are public defamation and spreading false information.
We believe qu’Ewado continued today for his activities defenders of human rights and especially for the publication of a provisional list of victims of the December 21, 2015 which nobody can dispute until an independent commission did not its report on the massacre of Buldhuquo. Besides his appearance was postponed to Sunday, January 10, 2016.
Ewado has so far kept in total isolation nor his wife nor his children had access since his arrest and despite the incessant demand and express the family to allow them to see.
3. The former Minister of Islamic Affairs and Waqf property, always committal order despite his health
Hamoud Abdi Souldan, former Minister of Islamic Affairs and Waqf property, seriously injured 21 December 2015 at the special forces raid at the home of Mr. Djama Amareh Meidal, arrested in leaving the Bouffard military hospital by the police that the December 30, 2015 outside the hospital. He was taken to the prosecutor presto of Djibouti and then placed in stride in term deposit at the central prison Gabode.
The former Minister Hamoud was urgently admitted to hospital Peltier General the following day (31 December 2015) of its investment in custody. On Sunday, January 3 Hamoud Abdi was forcibly returned to Gabode against the advice of doctors.
4. Other citizens languishing since the events of Buldhuqo to Gabode without judgments
Following the massacre Buldhuqo on the outskirts of suburban Balballa, targeted arrests of ordinary citizens, officials, administration officials … were procédées for them to blame for the killings of 21 December 2015. Most of these people are still in term deposit Gabode. We do not know the exact number but among them are senior administration officials such as: Mohamed Abdi Farah, Advisor to the Minister of the Interior, Chirdon Khaireh Chirdon, top official of the State Secretariat for Youth and Sports, Director Sports Abdo Miguil Daher, a professor at the University of Djibouti, Hussein Abdurahman, under the Ministry of Health.
The ODDH denounces and condemns the repeated violations of human rights and illegal and arbitrary arrests of politicians, human rights defenders, opposition activists, ordinary citizens …
The ODDH request the opening in promptly and impartially investigated. The light must be shed on the killings and the perpetrators will be held accountable and justice will be rendered to the families of victims.
The ODDH asks the international community to exert its influence on the government in power to see justice done in the killings and to end the brutal repression that suffer daily officials, opposition activists and ordinary citizens.
The ODDH recommends power to comply with the international standards ratified by Djibouti, the constitutional provisions on the protection of citizens, respect for fundamental freedoms, to the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights, the International Covenant Civil and Political Rights and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
